As we step into a new year, it’s the perfect time to consider how to enhance your outdoor living space. Building a new deck can significantly transform your home and provide numerous benefits. If you’re contemplating a home improvement project, here are five compelling reasons to build a new deck in 2025.

1. Increase Your Home’s Value

One of the most significant advantages of building a new deck is the potential increase in your home’s value. Real estate experts agree that a well-constructed deck can offer an excellent return on investment. According to recent studies, homeowners can recoup around 70-80% of the costs of building a new deck upon selling their property. Whether you’re planning to move soon or simply want to enhance your home’s long-term value, a deck is a great investment.

2. Enhance Outdoor Living Space

A deck provides a perfect venue for enjoying the outdoors. It extends your living space outside, allowing you to host gatherings, enjoy quiet mornings with a cup of coffee or unwind after a long day. In 2025, think about redefining your lifestyle by incorporating outdoor elements into your daily routine. With a deck, you can create an inviting space for dining, lounging and even entertaining, making the most of warm-weather days.

3. Boost Curb Appeal

A new deck can significantly improve your property’s curb appeal. The deck serves as a focal point that can enhance the overall aesthetic of your home. By choosing designs and materials that complement your home’s architecture, you can create a visually appealing transition from indoors to outdoors. In 2025, focus on unique designs, colors and textures to ensure your deck stands out and makes a lasting impression.

4. Enjoy Eco-Friendly Options

Today’s deck materials are more environmentally friendly than ever. In 2025, consider sustainable building materials, such as recycled composites or sustainably sourced wood, to minimize environmental impact. Many manufacturers now offer eco-friendly options that are durable, low-maintenance and visually appealing. Building a new deck with these materials not only benefits the environment but also contributes to a healthier outdoor space for you and your family.

5. Create a Personal Retreat

The new year is an excellent time to prioritize self-care and create a personal retreat at home. A deck can serve as your sanctuary for relaxation, creativity or even exercise. You can add a pergola for shade, comfortable furniture or even a hot tub to enhance your deck experience. Set up a reading nook or an outdoor yoga space, and transform your deck into a private oasis that allows you to escape from the stresses of daily life.

Maxwell did a great job installing our outdoor patio and firepit and finished ahead of schedule. When a few minor adjustments need to be made after the project was finished, Troy was very responsive, kept in touch, and had the adjustments made perfectly. Highly, highly recommend!

Christine Tobias

Was very pleased with the level of customer service. I had rock, fill dirt, and mulch delivered. When I arrived I was greeted quickly, they helped me make informed selections, and they delivered immediately. Cost of products was competitive. Will absolutely be coming back here for all of my landscaping/hardscaping needs.

Judy Breeding

Absolutely wonderful experience-Paul and Justin went extra mile to get my paver patio just right. They were pleasant and professional. Several neighbors commented on how neat and careful they were. Troy was especially helpful in every way. Highly recommend!!!

Drew Culbreth

Top Notch company....Reliable and Predictable work. I would put the skill and the results of this company against anyone. The outcome of projects always surpasses the expectation. Troy is great to work with and a stand up guy. Wouldn't want anyone else working in my yard.

Matt and Dave installed a beautiful hardscape Belgard wall in our front yard. We would highly recommend Troy and his crew to everyone. Thank you Maxwell Landscaping

EDWARD SCOTT II, DDS

Very happy with out outdoor fireplace. When you design a hardscape and its your first one a lot of trust goes to the contractor, especially with the larger area we decided to construct(20x20 w a 6ft fireplace, pavers and large natural stones). We felt very confident in Troy the owner of maxwell landscaping and he did everything to our requests. The job went as planned and his crew arrived when promised and since we had good weather the project was completed quicker than expected. Troy went beyond my expectations and the job estimate remained the same at the end. His crew did an excellent cleanup and I was impressed. To find a contractor in our area who is knowledgable, dependable, and honest is invaluable to me and I plan on using Troy again in the future. Dr Ed Scott and Dr Erin Scott
